Even as Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari declared that the Aam Aadmi Party will soon be "history", senior Congressman Mani Shankar Aiyar instead hinted that the party would be open to tying up with the one-year-old party to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's juggernaut to Delhi.

Speaking to CNN-IBN's Editor-in-Chief Rajdeeep Sardesai, Aiyar said he doesn't really care who "does the job" (of stopping Modi), so long as the job is done effectively.
"The Congress will take the bulk of the burden, but we welcome any assistance from other parties in stopping this Hitler from coming to power," Aiyar said, after first saying "I hope, I pray" that the AAP stops the BJP and Modi.
The Bharatiya Janata Party hit back immediately. Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said the Congress appeared to have accepted defeat even before the elections.
"This is what the Congress mindset is. Now they have realised that they can't win, they can't fight Modi and BJP and therefore what they are contemplating is that they want to take cooperation of AAP or all those parties," said Javadekar.
The AAP, and specifically Arvind Kejriwal, have been roundly criticised for accepting the support of the Congress to form the government in Delhi after a hung verdict in the Assembly elections.
