Manmohan Singh, while addressing what is being touted as his last press conference as the Prime Minister of India, declared that Narendra Modi as the country's PM is a recipe for disaster. "I sincerely think that Narendra Modi's dream to become the country's PM will not come true," he said answering questions posed to him by the media. As expected, BJP leaders saw red and reacted to Singh's accusations. Singh had said that he didn't consider the massacre of people on the streets of Ahmedabad as an incident that indicates the strength of a state's chief minister.
BJP spokerperson Nirmala Sitharaman lashed out at the PM on Twitter saying that while he called Modi as 'mass murderer' he said nothing about the corruption in his own party.
PM in his Press Con calls a thrice elected CM as 'mass murderer' while he absolves himself of corruption in UPA-I based on his reelection!

She added that she was 'utterly disappointed' at the fact that the PM showed no respect for Indian courts which have absolved Modi of all accusations.
Utterly disappointed -the PM in his Press Conf, alleges CM Gujarat. Courts have found no merit. On Coalgate even inter/gtn hasn't happened. — Nirmala Sitharaman (@nsitharaman) January 3, 2014
Shahnawaz Hussain added that Narendra Modi as the country's PM will not be disastrous, instead it was Manmohan Singh's stint which spelled disaster for the country. He alleged that though the PM has declared that he has never benefited from his office or let his relatives profit on account of him being the country's Prime Minister, he didn't say that Congress ministers have followed his example. Hussain indicated that not all Congress ministers can claim to have never indulged in corruption. In a series of tweets, he tried to take Singh's address down:
When PM talks of social inclusiveness , he means UPA has hurt all sections of society with inflation & corruption without discrimination. — Shahnawaz Hussain (@ShahnawazBJP) January 3, 2014
PM says he did not use post for friends or family. However used post 4 benefit of congressmen. Wish he had used it for benefit of country. — Shahnawaz Hussain (@ShahnawazBJP) January 3, 2014
I hv always said that schemes for minorities are only on paper. By admitting this, PM has also admitted to vote bank politics of Cong party.
