New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is being escapist and resorting to anarchy, said Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari Tuesday.
"They made promises to the people and now when it comes to walking the talk they are being escapist and trying every gimmick to wriggle out of the situation that they themselves have got into," Tewari told a television channel.
"People of this country need to ask AAP if they believe in the idea of India as a republic? Because if they believe in this idea, one would not resort to the kind of anarchy that they have resorted to right now," added the minister.
Kejriwal and his ministers are holding a sit-in protest in the heart of Delhi to demand that Delhi Police be brought under their control and action is taken against five police personnel.
The minister also asked Kejriwal to make a transition from being an agitator to an administrator by virtue of being the chief minister of the state.
On Congress support to AAP, the minister said: "The situation that we stand in today, I think the Congress does not even require to revisit their decision on support. These gentlemen will themselves soon collapse under the weight of their own contradictions."
