Despite differences, am not quitting AAP: Capt Gopinath

After speaking out against the Aam Aadmi Party's move to reverse the decision on FDI in retail in Delhi, then calling the tendency to label all dissent within the party as akin to the functioning of the Gulag, then going on to blog against the demand for the suspension of policemen after Law Minister Somnath Bharti's midnight raid. And finally, he even demanded that Bharti be sacked pending an enquiry. And yet, AAP member and founder of Air deccan Captain G R Gopinath has chosen not to resign from the party despite his candidly stated opposition to the party's stand on a series of issues.

In a fresh blog post, Gopinath says he is not frustrated and is not considering tendering his resignation from membership to the party.

Demanding an exacting standard of rectitude and accountability does not amount to frustration with the party's functioning or a loss of belief in its ideals, he has said.

"Though I've disagreed publicly on many acts and pronouncements of AAP and its leaders, including Kejriwal, I continue in the party as I continue to admire the 'Man Kejriwal' though I continue to disagree with many of the actions or inactions of the party and also the manner in which some in the party have conducted themselves," he writes.

He adds that AAP has put the older parties on watch, giving hope to voters that money power and muscle power need not sway them.
