After Kejriwal’s resignation AAP readies for next battle

The resignation of Arvind Kejriwal seems to have only boosted the morale of the AAP supporters. They braved the untimely rain in Delhi today to show solidarity with him.

The party seems to have achieved exactly what it wanted from the entire fiasco over the passage of the Jan Lokpal bill. The supporters and common people alike are convinced that the young political outfit has been a victim of the political system. "The BJP and the Congress together conspired against AAP to make sure it cannot continue in the government," is the common sentiment among the people who have gathered in front of the AAP office.

After today's resignation one more dynamic has changed. Before the last election in Delhi, the electoral battle which was being projected as the fight between the Congress and the AAP would now be between the latter and the BJP. The anti-Modi slogans have taken over.

The party claims that it is going to campaign over the issue of resignation. "We will play up the fact that the government had to quit because the Congress and BJP did not want to support the pro-people moves initiated by the party in Delhi," said an AAP leader.

According to sources, the party has already started preparations for the upcoming Delhi election. "Volunteers in constituencies have already been alerted for the preparation of a fresh election in Delhi," said one of the party's election coordination committee members.
