10.33 pm: BJP launches counter protest against AAP
And to just make things a little more confusing and volatile, a number of BJP workers have launched a counter protest against the Aam Aadmi Party at the same venue.
BJP party workers are holding up placards reading, "Kejriwal chor hai" and are shouting at the gathered AAP workers.
In the middle of all this is of course, the beleagured Delhi police who have the unenviable task of standing in between the rival protests. What with midnight raids, dharnas against them and now this, it has not been smooth sailing for the Delhi police this year!
10.20 pm: Massive protests outside Jaitley's home in Kailash colony
A massive crowd has gathered outside Jaitley's residence in Kailash colony waving flags and shouting slogans against the BJP leader. Security has been stepped up outside Jaitley's home, with several barricades erected, as well as a heavy police presence.
AAP has said that the protest has not been sanctioned by party leaders and is an outpouring of anger by the AAP workers in the wake of allegations that Jaitley was working to topple the Delhi government.
9.30 am: AAP planning to protest outside Jaitley's Delhi home
AAP leaders have said that they will hold a protest outside BJP leader Arun Jaitley's residence in Kailash colony.
The protests come a day after AAP MLA Madan Lal revealed he had got bribe offers from people claiming to be close to Jaitley, to help pull down the AAP government. He was however unable to provide proof of the same.
Only a principled man like me could say no to them," said Lal about the 'intermediaries' he refused to name.
The BJP has angrily reacted to the allegations, calling them 'rubbish' and 'nonsense'.
BJP Delhi leader Harsh Vardhan told Firstpost that AAP's allegations were baseless. "It's all nonsense and completely wrong. Everyday they come up with a new lie. They can keep saying what they want to," a visibly agitated Vardhan said.
BJP leader Arun Jaitley also rubbished the claims on his Twitter account. His tweet read, "Rubbish claims by AAP. AAP's alternative politics includes a fundamental right to falsehood and lies."
AAP spokesman Ashutosh told CNN-IBN that they were protesting because they want to tell people how BJP is trying to malign the Delhi government.
